CT governor proposes $14M to keep special ed students in their districts

 Video: Governor Lamont is calling for more money in his new budget proposal focusing on building more local programs.


But some parents are worried tonight about possible changes.


. . .It aims to reduce the reliance on out-of-district placement for special needs students.


. . .Some  parents say if they went back to their own districts, it won’t be a good fit.


. . .The placements cost a lot of money for school districts.


. . .The governor also proposed $14M dollars to help local districts to create programs where special needs students can stay in their home school districts.
