St Bernadette’s Special School in Letterkenny has received approval for an extension by the Department of Education.


The extension comprises four new classrooms to provide special classes for children with special education needs and has been granted under the Modular Framework Programme. Welcoming the announcement, Donegal minister, Charlie McConalogue thanked the Minister for Education, Norma Foley and her team of officials for their help and assistance in the school getting approval for an extra classroom.


“This is great news for the pupils, staff and board of management at St. Bernadette’s in Letterkenny. This is the latest in a number of approvals given by the Department of Education to schools in Donegal to extend their current capacity,” the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine said.  “I look forward to the new classrooms being in place at St Bernadette’s as soon as possible.”
