Mar 14, 2025, RedFM: Special Education Junior Minister says he's aware of children without a school place
The Junior Minister responsible for special education says he is well aware of the number of children without a place for the next school year.
Michael Moynihan was visiting St. Killian’s Special School in Mayfield this afternoon where there are 100 children on the waiting list.
Over 80 children in Cork who require special education classes do not have a school place next year.
Speaking to RedFM News, Minister of state for special education Michael Moynihan says the department is working to ensure every child has a school place in September:
"I am quite well aware of the amount of children that are waiting and I understand the challenges that they have. We are working to try and make sure that those places are made available for children in September."
