Mar 13, 2025, Irish Independent: Wexford St Patrick’s Day parade to include an inclusive sensory route for people with Autism
Enniscorthy's St Patrick’s Day parade will not only include a multitude of cultures, communities, and organisations, but the committee is going out of its way to provide a safe experience for those with sensory issues.
The route will still be from Shannon Chapel, down through the heart of Templeshannon, along Shannon Quay to the new bridge, up through Abbey Square and over Mill Park Road, up Friary Hill, turning left onto Court Street and turning right up Hospital Lane onto Lymington Road, over to Duffy Hill to John Doyles corner and down Main Street.

However, the committee, in conjunction with the Cottage Autism Network, will be setting up a Sensory Inclusion Street, located on Templeshannon Quay between the old and new bridge.
The Cottage Autism Network is a Wexford based voluntary organisation which aims to improve the quality of life of families by providing support and promoting the equality and inclusion of children and teenagers with Autism.
"This area will be for people of different abilities to access the parade in an environment which is safe and sensitive to their needs,” they said.
