Mar 17, 2025, Jacksonville (NC) Daily News: Opal Autism Centers to open on Memorial Drive
A new clinic for children with autism will be available to the Jacksonville community beginning later this month.
Opal Autism Centers’ newest clinic, at 128 Memorial Drive, will officially open its doors March 31.
Opal Autism Centers is a child-centric organization founded by operational and clinical experts who love the science of behavior change and the impact it has on children and their families, said Christine Jones, director of Client Services and Growth for Opal Autism Centers.
“For many of us, the love of caring for others and seeing transformational outcomes came at an early age, being either born into or raised by a healthcare family,” Jones said. “Our ambition, compassion, quest for learning and high level of expectations are in our DNA.”
The clinic will offer Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy, a preschool readiness program and diagnostic testing.
ABA therapy is based on the science of learning and behavior. The program focuses on teaching new skills and improving behavior by using positive reinforcement.
Therapy is tailored to each child’s unique needs and strengths, and it is designed to promote skill development in a wide range of areas, including communication, socialization, behavior and academic performance. . . .
The goal of the Jacksonville clinic is to address the growing need for specialized autism therapy and diagnostic testing in the area.
“Jacksonville is home to a diverse community, and we recognized that many families were seeking accessible, high-quality services for autism spectrum disorders,” Jones said.
“Our goal is to provide comprehensive care that supports children and their families through early diagnosis, evidence-based therapies, and tailored interventions.”
Jones added that they hope to significantly reduce long wait times, alleviate stress for parents, and get little learners in Opal’s programs as soon as possible, as early intervention is key.
“We are committed to improving the quality of life for individuals with autism and helping them reach their full potential,” Jones said.
The Opal Autism Centers clinic will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Insurance and Medicaid are accepted.
