(UK) Welsh county has "new funding model"; "more sustainable/equitable support"

Nov 4, 2021, North Wales Pioneer: Conwy council proposes new funding model to improve additional learning needs and social inclusion services https://www.northwalespioneer.co.uk/news/19694307.conwy-council-proposes-new-funding-model-improve-additional-learning-needs-social-inclusion-services/

SCHOOLS could be given more freedom to provide targeted additional learning needs and social inclusion support in Conwy. Conwy County Borough Council is set to introduce a new funding model for teams including educational psychology and autism outreach, which it says will result in more sustainable and equitable support for pupils. It follows a year-long consultation by the council since September last year over Conwy’s Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Social Inclusion (SI) Services, which has involved key stakeholders across the country. The new model would enable schools to opt not to buy into the local authority’s additional existing learning needs and social inclusion services, and could instead receive funds for their own arrangements. If the proposals are approved they will take from effect from April 1, 2022…..
